The James and Mary Foundation, Inc. was established by Ceo Mrs. Cyni Caldwell- Dunson (LaLa)  in Los Angeles California on May 26, 1999.

The inspiration behind the James and Mary Foundation derives from our Ceo Mrs. Dunson parents,

Mr. James and Mary Ann Caldwell, who were both hearing impaired  and or deaf.

Unfortunately, at the age of seven, Our Ceo lost her mom to cancer and  soon after,  Mrs. Dunson‘s Dad was terminated by employer McDonnell Douglas Aircraft (Boeing aircraft) simply because he attended his wife’s funeral. Mr. Caldwell could not hear or speak, therefore,  he had no way of communicating  to his employer the loss of his beloved wife and becoming a single father overnight to three little girls, understandably put him in a dark frame of mind.

Witnessing her dad’s emotion an  immediately fueled, nine year old Mrs. Dunson's  exercised her  limitless  compassion and empathy, to assist people with unique abilities. Compton, California's lacked resources at that time, therefore  our Ceo, could only imagine how many other individuals with unique abilities were  lacking support.

Absolutely, you guessed it, Our Ceo at the age of nine, advocated for her dad, and he was able to return to work after  eleven months.

Confirming her passion for people with unique abilities,  at the age of 16 our Ceo envisioned opening a chain of schools for people with unique abilities.

Yes indeed at The James and Mary Foundation, Inc.  we believe that every individual, but not limited to people with unique abilities, deserves to receive the same support as anyone else. In the interim, advocacy is James and Mary Foundation’s primary goal.
James and Mary Foundation,  understands in order to thrive,  individuals must obtain necessary resources, five core services that J.A.M offers, Employment  development, supportive employment,  computer training, Independent living skills, housing, advocacy but not limited to peer counseling and domestic violence.

What sets J.A.M aside from

other companies that advocate for people with unique challenges?  Oh that's simple, Here at James  and Mary Foundation, Inc. We empower our clients to become business owners.

We believe in creating resources for our community if it does not exist.

The School

L.A.N.D.O.N

(Learn a new direction of normal)

was established in Atlanta Ga  2014 closed 2019 reopening date, ( TBA to be announced)

May 2015, after the alleged abuse  of our Ceo’s son Landon Dunson, at a local school, a furious, Mrs. Dunson requested the school district to install video cameras in classrooms of children with special needs.

Mrs. Dunson would eventually attend a school board meeting to state her concerns to a panel of seven board members and stakeholder.

Landon, who was diagnosed with cerebral palsy, autism  and hypotonia,  was born on August 2, 2005, Landon is nonverbal.  Landon's labor and delivery resulted in a traumatic brain injury as he lost oxygen, a delayed delivery which  could have been  prevented,  if a C-Section was performed.

Finally,  Mrs. Dunson was able to address the school board,  This no doubt,  was a terrible day for our Ceo, Mrs. Dunson, who was denied video camera in classrooms, and she was sarcastically,  told by a school board member, that she would need to change the law in order to get cameras in classrooms. A very sad Mrs. Dunson walked out of the board meeting and prayed all the way home for God's guidance, Mrs. Dunson was angry!

GOD IS GOOD, A week later Mrs. Dunson attended a parent summit, where she met a very courageous and fearless, State representative Ms. Valencia Stovall. Mrs. Dunson informed Representative Stovall of the unexplainable bruises on her adorable Sir Landon, she stated how she desperately need to change  the law and how so many students that were non verbal could not tell their parents how their day went. Stovall seemed a bit overwhelmed when Mrs. Dunson approached her, yet she showed an immediate burst of compassion.  Mrs. Dunson  walked away from the parent summit a bit confused,  although Stovall did show concern the conversation was brief, nevertheless,  State Representative Stovall requested a telephone number. A couple of weeks later, Mrs. Dunson received a call from State Rep Stovall, requesting to meet soon. Dunson begin  working closely with State Rep Valencia Stovall  as she introduced, HB614 The Landon Dunson Act, This Law was created as a pilot program to put  video cameras in children with special needs classrooms in the state of Georgia, The Landon Dunson Act was signed into law by Governor Nathan Deal May 3,

2016, Well I guess we showed them (school board)  We changed the law and created a LAW!

Although there were indeed many challenges working with the school district,  Mrs. Dunson has stated time and time again, that the focus has always been the resolution, not the problem.

Currently,  the school district and The James and Mary Foundation are working together.

Sadly, it is unfortunate that after all this hard work Mrs. Dunson, State Rep Stovall,  Rahn Hatcher,  Jessica Wells,  Kinyette  Barnes and Neil Beresford put into this bill,

Mrs. Dunson  is  still  cringing, why?
It has been reported to her that there has been video footage  that a local principal in Georgia strategically eraced, of a teacher slapping a student, after the 6 year old special needs student slapped her(the teacher), this info was shared with our organization, from a reliable source.

Video cameras in classrooms for children with special needs would've shown the cause of Rahn's Hatcher son Aaron Hatcher's passing while in his classroom.

"Video cameras protects students from being abused and teachers from being accused. (a slogan created by

Special Needs Rock awards Rahn Hatcher)

The James and Mary Foundation, is preparing to  work on new legislation in your state and or a state near you.

We will insist that video cameras for children special needs classroom, be monitored in police precincts/and or parents of the students..

Our Ceo knows firsthand how challenging it is to raise a child and adult with unique abilities, Our Ceo, enjoys celebrating all parents of children with unique talents and abilities. Please join us as we get to celebrate parents of children with special needs at  our next annual Landon awards event,  sign up and or nominate someone, we would love to see you there!
